Been working on a project at St Augustine's Junior School in Worksop. I've been creating a wildlife garden in their school grounds with Jim Staveley from Greener Places (www.greenerplaces.co.uk).We have been commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council to create the wildlife area working with the staff and pupils, so it becomes a sustainable learning space. Paul and Len from Burkinshaws Construction helped out with the digging and path works- two hardened Rotherham types impervious to cold and snow.
A Butyl liner has been laid as a pond liner- Jim's eye for detail was essential in getting the levels right for the pond. we then constructed a dipping platform from recycled plastic timber. It's really good stuff- a bit more pricey than timber but a lot more durable. 

We managed to gather loads of pebbles from the sandy soil we dug up from the pond excavation, these are ideal for laying around the dipping platform. Looks like well need to run a hosepipe from the school to fill the pond up!

Me and Jim spent a few chilly days working on the fence, but its all done now- ready for planting up. We'll be working with the children to do this, and they'll be helping me to design some benches and a bird hide.
